Holistic Nutrition Consultant & Stress Coach. Public Speaker. Author. Scientist. Podcaster. Mum to 3 Great Kids.

Anita spent 9 years at university studying a broad range of sciences including chemistry, nuclear medicine, sonography, a short dabble in psychology and then found herself in nutrition. She worked in nuclear medicine and PET diagnostic imaging in Australia and the UK for 13 years before a series of health issues affected her and her family which sent her back to university to study post-graduate nutrition in search of solutions.
It became obvious to her during post-graduate studies that nutrition is so much more than just food. However, rather than being answered, Anita's questions began to mount.
Why are we seeing lifestyle diseases in children as young as 1 year of age? Why are 1 in 10 kids older than 12 years old now on antidepressants? (CDC National Center for Health Statistics, 2011) Why is there a 1000% increase in type two diabetes in the past two decades in children? (Ludwig, JAMA 26;286(12) 2001).
Through personal experience and meeting and talking to many people (a diverse range of those behind the scientific exploration as well as those on their own health journeys), the jigsaw building began.
Compromises in our health and the health of our children arise from a complex interaction between inflammation, nutrient deficiency, toxin exposure, changes in our gut composition, stress, sleep and most importantly psychology driving our behaviours, perceptions and learnings.
If we continue to live the way we are in our modern world, our children have no hope of reaching their brilliance. Sad but true. The window of opportunity to change is becoming narrower so it of vital importance that we look to make changes now.
Anita now practices as an educator and works with families to address the reasons why and how to bring about dietary change. Having surprised her own doctors by reversing a handful of lifestyle diseases, and no longer on medication, she realises now that she can maintain good health, a sustained new attitude toward food, and has lost weight and found new energy and strength. Her family too has benefited, and her daughters have shown remarkable health gains, and their interest in food has passively diffused to hopefully set them up for a lifetime of health and brilliance. These personal experiences motivate Anita to inspire others to eat their way to good health. Why wait for a diagnosis of illness in your family to work towards achieving better health?
Anita's nutritional philosophy is holistic. She examines the whole body, the whole family, takes a detailed health history, discusses the home environment, individual stressors and questions other significant events that arise in life. It is not uncommon in one family to see a display of symptoms ranging from lacking energy, suffering from pain, hormonal issues, bowel issues, allergies, inability to lose weight, moodiness, depression, allergies, frequent illness, ear infections, skin problems and behavioural issues...
Anita attends and participates regularly in conferences and seminars around Australia to constantly improve herself and her services. Her knowledge, passion and empathy has touched hundreds of families and individuals, and she is regularly invited to speak at public events and schools. She is often approached by radio and print media for comment on nutritional issues, and been interviewed for several podcasts and online blogs.
She enjoys public speaking and welcomes requests from any group, club or school to speak about the protective and healing benefits of food, in many different contexts.
Anita is available for individual consultations either face to face in Yeppoon, Queensland, or via Zoom.
She has found amazing success with participants in her popular group programs, and these run throughout the year.
Anita's tailored workplace wellness programs have transformed lunch-room discussions and working groups have become inspired to improve their health and motivate and support one another to introduce positive changes. As a result, employers love reduced absenteeism through illness and their healthier, energised employees can performing tasks with increased positivity and focus.
